Absence

It supposedly makes the heart grow fonder, so did you miss me?

I could list off multiple excuses (all of which somewhat related to school) and dwell in the past but what's the point when I'm here now and have far more exciting things to discuss and document. With year 12 over I feel refreshed and free of obligation allowing room for glimmers of my creative side to re-roar their fruitful heads. And you know what that means for you? More posting!

And don't you worry, I didn't completely isolate myself in the depths of business books and paint brushes all year, I still managed to keep up with all the ins and outs of the industry (and boy have there been a influx of them, most recent being my boy at Balenciaga Nicolas, who called it quits after 15 years as creative director of the french brand and lets not yet go into the touchy subject of his successor.) If you've kept up with my other ramblings and visual eye candy in the way of my tumblr, twitter and freshly hatched instagram (yes, I finally surrendered and made the switch from BB to iPhone) then you may have gotten a little insight into the latest goings on in my life, and the fact that I am indeed alive and posting, I just neglected this baby for the long cold winter.

I won't lie, it's been daunting trying to get into the blogging groove again, so I'm starting off small to get the ball rolling and since the end of the year is near it can mean only one thing, holiday season. So here is my ($$dream$$) go to outfit for any celebratory party i'd have the honor to attend. Equal parts festive, fashion forward and fun.

Happy Holidays
ELLERY Sweet Sakura Shift Dress / Yves Saint Laurent Platform Heels / Charlotte Olympia Mistletoe Pandora - Christmas Clutch / Star Pendant Necklace

So, have yourself a joyful time of year and celebrate a little lot. That means compulsory champagne for breakfast come Christmas day and an any-excuse-will-do attitude to dress up and dance.

Happy holidays!

Holding a magazine with a cover that states "IT'S ALL ONLINE!" with my laptop in front of me is a dangerous, dangerous thing to do.

Dying for Dries

When it comes to buying designer clothes, I'm stingy. But then what 17 year old wouldn't be?
I'm a high school student, I don't work and I sure as hell don't have the money to fund designer goods the way some other bloggers do.
But that doesn't stop me from dreaming.

I often sit on net-a-porter filling up a shopping bag with hundreds of items before pressing checkout and laughing at home many centuries it would take to be able to afford them is a favourite past time. It's all a part of the thrill of dreaming this imaginary wardrobe that I one day hope to have.

The New Guard, an online and boutique store in Adelaide makes that fantasy  closer (a few cms in my case) to a reality.
With the likes of Maison Martin Margiela, Hakaan, Acne, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant and my personal favourite 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Not only that but they support incredible Australian designers such as my current obsession Dion Lee, Ellery, Arnsdorf and Carly Hunter.

And currently they are stocking Dries Van Noten. The initial excitement upon reading this was soon and sadly flattened with 'oh God I'm going to look and feel depressed over not being able to own it'. Or in other words, my daily ritual after reading my emails in the morning. hmm sucks to be average, doesn't it. I really must get onto that job... but back to my pre-melancholy mentioning.

Now if you've read my blog since the beginning (and really it hasn't been that long) you'd remember me posting a bit about the Dries Spring Summer 2012 collection, and now I could actually get my hands on it!
Yes, the lovely team at The New Guard are stocking all those glorious items I continuously drool over.
They offer something many other shops in Adelaide are lacking and that's international high end fashion and style. And I give them a BIG applaud for that. There isn't a time I click onto their site and don't load up the cart with designer delights. So today was no different.

These quality and beautiful pieces are worth forking out the big bucks to own, especially if you choose right you could have yourself a classic item to treasure. Here are just a few of my picks from their latest offerings.
(Trust me just narrowing this down was hard)

(and while your at it those Alexander Wang Liya heels in pic 2 would be great)

On a side note, how gorgeous does Adelaide model Tori Trigg look? She recently finished an impressive first circuit of the autumn winter fashion week runways. And things tell me it won't be her last!

So, the conclusion of this post would be, start donating money to me now or grab all your black attire and lets plot our break in.
I hear balaclavas are 'chic' or whatever now days?

p.s while your browsing please buy me everything Dion Lee and 3.1 Phillip Lim there, k? thanks bye.

And buy yourself something special, you'll have a hard time trying not to!

Happy Easter!

Louis Vuitton Easter Bunny Vogue

Happy Easter!
I hope it's a relaxing and enjoyable time for you all.
I can tell you mine will be because I am finally on holidays! This also means I'll be able to get back to regular posting.
I've set myself the goal to post at least once per day throughout this two week break!
So I'll start off light with this opportunity to wish you all a nice long weekend and it's also an excuse to post this ADORABLE picture of a bunny wearing Louis Vuitton ears. Trust me this was one of many editorials featuring the infamous bunny ears from the Fall 2009 collection but I didn't want to detract from the cuteness of this fluffy black furball. I'd jump hop at the chance to still believe in this lil fella if it were designer delights he was bearing instead of calorific chocolates.

Anyway, how festive & appropriate!
How are you spending your break?

Mercurys Dropping

Neons, neutrals and metallics...oh my!
This is one collection I'd happily wear every piece of.

Every outfit was an instant favourite and picking just a few looks was one tough job,
So check out the rest here!

These icy metallics and pastel hues are rather appropriate for the weather we're experiencing
If this is what the season ahead of clothing looks like then I say, let it rain! (and a pocket full of money too)
Le sigh, I do need that job first because teasing myself with this satorial delight is just torture :(

Crisp Whites

I'm a terrible blogger,
There, I admitted it.
But trust me, things will pick up! I hoping to fully get back into the swing of things over the next week or two.
So stay tuned, this school work will pass and I will return.
Plus I might start documenting some research I've been doing!

In the meantime visit my tumblr for daily inspiration and photos to make you swoon!
I put a lot of effort into that thing! Finding all the photos and posting them myself plus trying to keep some sort of aesthetic order.

Here's a peak at some of my favourites from March.
So hopefully my vintage snaps of Moss and other pretty delights will make up for my absence!
(details of the photos can be found on their posts on my tumblr)

Thank you for your patience!
